How booking information is used

Before real-customer beta: the Booked operator must replace the operator placeholders in the compliance pack with its legal name, contact email and postal address.

Who controls your booking information?

The business you are booking with decides why your appointment information is needed and how long it should be kept. That business is normally the data controller for the booking. Booked provides the booking technology and processes the information on the business's instructions.

What Booked needs for a booking

Booked is designed to collect only what is needed to create and manage an appointment: your name, one or more contact details, the service, date/time, professional and any appointment questions the business has configured.

Businesses are told not to use Booked to collect medical information or other sensitive information. If a business needs a specialist consultation, it should use a separate appropriate process.

How long information is kept

Each business can choose a retention period. The beta defaults to 90 days after an appointment unless the business selects another permitted period. Old booking answers and contact details can then be cleared or anonymised when no longer needed.

Who helps provide Booked?

Booked uses hosting and database providers to run the service. The current beta infrastructure uses Vercel for application hosting and Neon for database storage. The current sub-processor register is available to participating businesses.

Payments

Deposits are not live in the current beta. When payments are introduced, Booked is intended to use a specialist payment provider so Booked does not store card numbers or security codes.

Cookies

The customer booking page does not use advertising or analytics cookies in the beta. The business diary uses a strictly necessary secure session cookie so an authorised business user can remain signed in.

Your rights

For requests about a booking, contact the business you booked with first. Booked will assist participating businesses with access, correction, deletion and other data-rights requests where required.

This beta notice is a working implementation template and should be reviewed against the final business model and hosting plan before processing real customer data.
